So, I originally needed a heavy-duty mounting solution for my POTA vertical antenna deployments…Enter the Alpha Antenna HD Surveyor Tripod. I was looking for a HD tripod that I could used to support of wide range of antenna deployment options – basic verticals, V-Dipoles, Tactical Deltas and finally EFHW Wires using my Chameleon 34′ CFM – Carbon Fiber Mast. Why the mast you ask? Well, sometimes you just can’t find the “Perfect Tree” to deploy an EFHW wire and in some parks – may not be allowed. One add-on modification I intend to make is the application of small, self-adhesive bubble levels to the tripod base for leveling convenience. This tripod is build solid and is almost infinitely adjustable with sliding legs which articulate to almost completely flat on the ground if needed. Yes, I do recommend the Alpha Antenna HD Surveyor Tripod.
