This is an aluminum adapter that enables hardware with a 3/8” x 24 male to be installed on a surveyor tripod, which have an industry standard male 5/8″ x 11 tpi thread count adapter already installed.
To install, just place this adapter on the head of your Tripod and screw it on, which is done with the black handle under the head of the tripod, using the brass male threaded bolt.
