Works very good .
The sounder at first I thought it didn’t work at all then I realized it beeps in the frequency I cannot hear due to hearing loss (army artillery). So no fault of the sounder. It works as described.
For the 2nd Time…Could not have been better!!!
I’ve been a fan of Alpha Antenna since Steve went out of his way to get a Ham Radio Veteran group I belong to, an amazing solution to our 2019 winter Field Day event. Long story short, he PERSONALLY made certain we had the best possible antenna for our deployment at a price that could only be described as unbelievable. As an individual, I turned to Alpha for help with my son’s Mag Loop operating. He’s visually impaired and was looking for any help possible, to making tuning easier and more accurate. I learned about Alpha’s SWR Sounder.
It turned out to be both a simple and elegant solution. Being able to tune tightly, not JUST to a background noise level, gave him a simple tool to correlate a secondary audio stimulus to the best SWR possible.
The end result was an EASY, EFFECTIVE and ECONOMICAL tune, to a low SWR, spending more time actually IN QSO’s not just trying to get “there”. It made using a Mag Loop much easier and much more efficient. That flat out equals more FUN!!! And isn’t that what Ham Radio is about?
