I found the directions confusing as to placement of ground wire. Does it go on the side bolt or on the bottom. If it is placed on the side bolt why was not a second 3/8×24 nut provided.

Purchased with all the other parts to make a Mil Emcomm Deluxe, the complete setup works well and and achieves good results. Tunes well on all bands but not fantastic swr at 10m. We recently had a meeting for an upcoming training exercise. At the end of the meeting, I was able to set up the antenna in minutes, establish WINLINK and VarAC qso’s, and listen to some DX coming into NZ from the Americas but unfortunately ran out of time to work any voice. Then from my father’s property in Northland, I was able to get 5/9 reports from Hastings, Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Canterbury on 40m. ‘Does everything I wanted.

    It works.

I use the 17 foot whip on mine to fine tune the SWR on 20 meter and I usually can switch straight to 17 and 15 meter without a tuner and still keep the SWR below 1.2.

Grounding is critical. In dry soils you may have to put water on and around the ground pin for it to work.

Q & A

Ask a question
I don't see the manual for this on the website. I'm curious as to what I would upgrade by using this. Scott Zemke asked on July 10, 2024

This does what our other Auto Match units do, but has different physical arrangement for connecting everything. Here is the manual for deployment: https://alphaantenna.com/manuals/MIL_2.0_Antenna_guide.pdf
