The 10-40M 100W PEP Alpha Loop that delivers high ERP (Effective Radiated Power). Its design rejects off frequency signals and the shielded Faraday pick-up loop reduces RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).

Changing the outer loop changes the frequency of operation and the power rating. Here are different loop configuration options available for purchase:
  1. *Default outer loop: 10-40M, 100W PEP SSB, 50W CW, and 10W Digital
  2. **Just the Booster cable: 12-40M, 75W PEP SSB, 35W CW, or 15W Digital
  3. ***Default outer loop and Booster in a double loop: 40-80M, 20 Watts PEP SSB, 10 Watts CW, and 5 Watts Digital
  4. ****6 Meter, 2 Meter & 440 MHz inner loop add-on element, 50W FM

More Information

How is the Alpha Loop tuned?

There is a huge tuning knob that makes adjusting the loop for an SWR below 1.9:1 very easy.

Attached to between the knob and capacitor is a 6:1 reduction drive, which increases ease of tuning even more.

To tune the antenna once it is deployed, just turn the knob while listening for the loudest noise floor in SSB mode, and then transmit at 5W in FM or CW mode while you tune and watch for the minimum SWR on your rigs built in meter.

***How is the ^40-80M Cable installed for coverage of 40 to 80 meters?

Install the Booster Cable as a double loop to form an outer loop that is over 21 feet in total length, which increases skin effect thereby increasing efficiency.

**How can efficiency be increased on 12-40 meters?

Increase the efficiency by over 20% on 12-40 meters at75W PEP SSB, 35W CW, or 15W Digital by only using the included longer outer loop Booster Cable in lieu of the shorter default Outer Loop.

How can the Alpha Loop handle 100 watts on 10-40M?

How did we accomplish 100W power levels on 10-40M? We perfected each component which enables the antenna system to handle 100 Watts PEP SSB on 10-40 Meters. NOTE – Maximum PEP SSB on 80M is 20W.

****How is the Alpha Loop able to use 6M VHF UHF?

Our engineers designed resonance on 420-450MHz and 144-148MHz plus 50-54MHz with an add-on element.

Have not really had the opportunity to test out your antenna . Some important mounting hardware was missing. They sent this on to me a week later. I just got a tripod I could use to set it up . We have had some bad weather here and I work nights for SSP program per Trump team . As you know this is part of operation hammer . I work with communications here as well .
I will be using a Icom 705 , 7300 , Ziegu x6100 , x6200 and G90 for testing out your antenna as soon as the opportunity arises. I have your Al 705 antenna and a chameleon mag loop with all the accessories. My radios have all the mars modifications for use on military channels we will follow through as the opportunity arises

Q & A

Ask a question
What performance difference is experienced when this antenna is placed inside versus outdoors? Q A asked on December 28, 2023

We have a special article that specifically covers the 'Performance comparison of a Magnetic Loop Antenna in a Basement, Indoors, versus Outdoors' located here: https://alphaantenna.com/community/hints-and-kinks/hf-magnetic-alpha-loop-magloop-antenna/performance-comparison-of-a-magnetic-loop-antenna-in-a-basement-indoors-versus-outdoors/

Should I adjust my Mic Gain in the radio? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

Due to ALC being reactive, output power may exceed the 100W limit of the Alpha Antenna Magnetic Loop if adjustment to ALC is not properly made. This is why it is critical that you prepare your radio for proper operation by adjusting your Mic Gain. Is a MagLoop directional? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

The Alpha MagLoop antenna has an approximate 8-degree directional null, which tapers then increases in signal strength as you turn the antenna through that null. Should I use an antenna tuner with a Magnetic Loop? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

You should not use an antenna tuner with a Magnetic Loop antenna, because it has a built-in manual tuner. READ MORE: https://alphaantenna.com/community/hints-and-kinks/hf-magnetic-alpha-loop-magloop-antenna/can-i-use-a-tuner-with-on-a-magnetic-loop-antenna-magloop/
