We would like to thank Al, AG5PC for these specific instructions when using a FlexRadio (6400 with the tuner by-passed) to tune an Alpha Antenna Magnetic Loop Antenna.
1-Set transmitter and receiver to the desired frequency, turn off all noise remediation, etc
2-Change the receiver pan adapter display width to (at least) 5MHz
3-Tune the antenna while observing the noise “hump” in the Panadapter. Tune the antenna for maximum signal strength at the desired frequency as displayed on the Panadapter and S-meter.
4-Transmit at the lowest practical power and observe the SWR while fine-tuning the antenna.
