On the air with the Alpha ProMaster antenna

Alpha Antenna ProMaster BASE-FMJ

As you can see from the pictures of my Alpha ProMaster Antenna is 25’ away from my 2 story Aluminum Sided Home, it’s working great.

Here is my Office/Radio Station WB0YX/Man Cave is on the second story window with all the coax spewing out the window.

The Alpha ProMaster Antenna has been in use for 3 weeks. Here is a page from my QRZ log showing what this antenna can do. Station is a Yaesu FTdx101MP. The Pro Master Antenna is rated for 250 watts SSB so it is a perfect match for the radio. Since using Alpha Antennas over the past few weeks, I have logged 67 QSO’ in 17 Countries and confirmed 19. Not bad for a few weeks’ effort.

Most importantly I can put the Alpha ProMaster antenna up by myself in minutes and take it down into a small bag of about 9 pounds including the heavy-duty tripod. It is built tough and has survived 35 MPH winds here already without any issues. So going portable in the field 6~160 on this antenna is not a big deal and super easy to setup. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I am in a HOA and so far, they have not said anything, but Alpha Antenna has many solutions to help other in the same situation.

The 1.900Mhz is not support by the manufacturer unless the four 35 elements are installed, and these readings were done without the 4x 35’ NVIS elements. These readings are with the vertical element that was extended to 16’ 4” plus the 25’ NVIS and the 8′ grounded counterpoise; I took direct readings here of the ProMaster antenna on my RigExpert AA-600 Antenna Analyzer.

Although the manufacturer does not claim this antenna supports 6 meters, it comes as a bonus band!

All other bands are either ready to go or easily tuned.
