I had been using an attic HF random wire antenna with very poor results, as I am unable to put up a serious HF antenna for several reasons.  I came across the Alpha Antenna gutter antenna and thought it would be worth a try, and ordered it.  It was worth it.  The assembly was shipped within a few days.  It was easy to install and attach to my gutter downspout.  I really wanted to use it to get on FT8 on 40 meters and 20 meters using only 10 watts of power.  I only finished installing the gutter antenna a few days ago.  VSWRs on  20 meters and 40 meters on the FT8 frequencies are less than 1.5:1 without an antenna turner.  I have already worked a dozen or so stations on FT8 around the U.S., Canada and Caribbean with 10 watts and the gutter antenna.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I decided to buy an antenna for my birthday.  I offered a price for the 100 watt EmComm Loop antenna, and it was accepted. The antenna arrived quickly.  There was a problem with the legs, but Steven promptly sent out replacements that worked perfectly. Great service. The antenna works well for its size. I am asking a lot of it as I am using it inside a house in a community with a strong HOA.  Like many loop antenna, it probably hears a bit better than it talks in this situation, but I am back on the air after a 30 year absence. Great fun. Full disclosure, I've only worked 20m, but that's because there's been no reason to change.  I bought this, had it delivered in 2-3 days, spent about 10 minutes (most spent re-figuring out my NanoVNA menus) tuning it.  First time out, had it at 1.3 SWR. I worked it a few days and had good results.  20M, West Coast US (near San Diego) and had FT8 confirmed QSOs within minutes.  A couple days later decided to get it out of the living room, and was a bit more patient tuning.  Again in just a few minutes, I had it 1.0 SWR for 20M FT8 (14.074 MHz I believe). Again good contacts.  I have it near AC power strip, so I have a feeling when I do a better job moving all AC away it's going to go nuts. Despite what any articles, FAQ, or even Alpha online help says, keep the middle loop aligned with outside.  I started seeing >2.0 and then realized the loop was shifted. Also, at one point no matter what, I couldn't get it below 1.8 SWR.  I moved it about 12 inches northward, and elevated it about 6 inches.  BAM! 1.0 almost within seconds. I worked 20M last night (July 4th AM), sent CQ, and had a pile up from the East Coast, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, and some islands off the Florida coast. 20M was popping. I had jumped on to get 1-2, and ended with 6 (all confirmed in QRZ) in just a few minutes on-air. I put mine on an Amazon tripod for speakers (rated to 90 pounds), and it's a rock star.  I can't say enough. 73s, Happy 250th Birthday to the US, and a million thank yous to the men and women who make Alpha Antennas.  Ironically I was on a local 2M repeater a few days ago, and they were singing praises of Alpha's participation at their club event. I just smiled, nodded in agreement and hoisted a frosty beverage in salute. 73s, W5UFV John

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. THE ANTENNA TRIPOD IS WELL BULT AND A GOOD INVESTMENT. IT COULD USE A BETTER WAY OF ATTACHING COMPONETS. WHAT I DID IS GO TO THE HARDWARE STORE AND GET A 5/8-11 NUT AND WELD IT INSIDE A SHORT PEICE OF 1 INCH EMT. THIS MADE AN IDEAL PLATFORM TO ATTACH ITEMS.
